A group of lecturers from several vocational high schools visited the Institute of Vine and Wine - Pleven

Under the National Programme ‘Innovation in Action’ 2024/2025, Module 2 ‘Mobility to promote and multiply good innovation between schools’, the Institute of Vine and Wine – Pleven was visited by a group of teachers from the Vocational School of Restaurant, Trade and Service – Pleven, the Vocational School of Restaurant and Hotel Management – Pavel Banya, Professional High School of Chemical Technology and Design ‘Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov’ – Burgas and Primary School ‘General Skobelev’, Skobelevo village.

The guests were welcomed by Assoc. Vanya Pandova. The Experimental Wine Cellar of the Institute of Vine and Wine was visited, where Assoc. Dimitrov introduced the team to the history, directions of work and achievements of the institute. The guests were acquainted with the wine museum attached to the winery, as well as the enoteca, which preserves one of the oldest wine collections in Europe with a first harvest in 1892. Issues of interest concerning the functioning of the winery and the institute were discussed.

The visit continued in the Seminar Hall of the Institute, where Assoc. The results of the work of the scientific team in wine chemistry on the antioxidant activity and the definition of the phenolic complex of Rubin wines were also presented. The guests were offered for tasting red wine of the Rubin variety, created at the Institute of Vine and Wine. The benefits of moderate wine consumption were discussed. The discussions also focused on the modern directions of work in food science.
